Lodz University of Technology Press is a university-wide unit, a department subordinate to Library of Lodz University of Technology. Providing services to the University, it operates on the basis of:
- The Statute of Lodz University of Technology,
- external and internal legal acts regulating matters concerning the functioning of the University,
- Regulations of the Library of Lodz University of Technology and Regulations of TUL Press.
The Director of the Library of Lodz University of Technology is responsible for the operation of TUL Press. Supervision is exercised by the Vice-Rector for Science.

The primary task of TUL Press is the preparation, publication and distribution of scientific monographs, academic textbooks, continuous publications, conference and information materials in the fields of knowledge covered by the scientific and didactic activity of the Lodz University of Technology to the academic community and external entities.
Lodz University of Technology Press is on the list of publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs at level I (position: 416; 48200) announced by the Minister of Education and Science. Each monograph published at TUL Press is awarded 80 points.
TUL Press is responsible for assigning DOI numbers to publications and for the e-Journal platform of Lodz University of Technology, where electronic versions of scientific journals are uploaded. It also manages the collection of DOI (Digital Object Identifier) identifiers for the distribution of identifiers to Lodz University of Technology units in specific repository platforms and the Plagiat.pl anti-plagiarism system for the preparation of similarity reports for all publications and texts submitted by TUL employees.
