PLAGIAT.PL
The Antyplagiat system, one of the most popular systems of this type in Poland, is a tool designed to verify the originality of text documents. However, it does not define whether and to what extent the text under examination is plagiarised or self-plagiarised. Rather, it indicates borrowings and facilitates the analysis of the text, making it easier to correct marked passages. It is the system’s task to identify the number of borrowings in the analysed text and to indicate their sources.

As of 2023, a novelty in the Anti-Plagiarism system is the AI Detection module, i.e. checking the probability that a work has been written by artificial intelligence (AI module).
The AI detection service provides a prediction of whether text has been created by an AI tool, using e.g. ChatGPT, GPT-2, GPT-J, GPT-NEO, GPT-3 or GPT-4. A score of 90% AI should be taken as 90% confidence that this content has been created by AI. The indicator does not reflect the amount of text written by AI. The report shows the probability for each piece of text that makes up the document and groups it into five colour ranges – from green, to yellow, to dark red.

The anti-plagiarism tool with the AI module is used to check all publications, especially scientific monographs, submitted to TUL Press by research staff of our University. The anti-plagiarism system with the AI detection module is also used to verify articles published by the staff of Lodz University of Technology outside the University – in Polish and foreign journals which require the submission of an anti-plagiarism report along with the publication submission to the editorial office.
If the similarity indices (WP1 - 50%; WP2 - 5%) and/or the likelihood ratio of using AI (max 50%) exceed acceptable standards, TUL Press may reject the publication, i.e. not allow it to be published despite positive reviews.
The anti-plagiarism procedure for employees of Lodz University of Technology is free of charge.
